Oh, I paid attention. Messing with the customize hairball is not
something I have time for at present, unless it's actually throwing
errors. And our customize experts all went and got day jobs.
So the whole face customization issue is very much on my mind.
Volunteers to take a close look at would be very welcome.

Thanks for mentioning it. I'll take a look at it.
Please note: patches that are not sent to <xemacs-patches(a)xemacs.org>
are quite likely to fall on the floor under current circumstances.
N.B. The criterion for sending a patch to xemacs-patches is not
perfection. It's workability. If you think that a patch is
dangerous, poorly understood, and really needs a couple of people to
try it out before even being considered, _don't_ send it to
xemacs-patches. If it works for you, you see no particular hazard in
it, and you think there's positive chance that it can go in as is or
with slight revision, _do_ send it to xemacs-patches.
