Stop.
D:\src\xemacs\xemacs-21.5.8\nt>
Now, in my config.inc I have this:
############################################################################
# Set this to specify the location of makeinfo. (If not set, XEmacs will
# attempt to use its built-in texinfo support when building info files.)
# MAKEINFO=
############################################################################
Should I grab a makeinfo package someplace? Will the cygwin package
suffice even though I am bulding this native XP? Or is this a bug?
It's a bug in that the documentation says it should work without
makeinfo. In practice there are three choices:
a) Update XEmacs documentation to remove all language features not
supported by XEmacs' version of texinfo.
b) Update texinfo. It's currently syned with FSF 20.5 - a quick diff
against the texinfmt.el in FSF 21.1 suggests resyncing wouldn't help.
c) Update the win32 build files and nt/README to make use of makeinfo
mandatory.
I suggest that (c) is the most practical choice.
