xterm behaves the way I'd expected, and XEmacs behaves differently.
To reiterate, `xterm -name junk' opens a resource-less xterm, and
`xemacs -name junk' doesn't appear to do anything useful.
On the other hand, our handling of the application class is
completely non-standard. All other Xt applications have a constant
application class, AFAIK. This is why I continue to think our value
of the application class being dependent on whether we find XEmacs*
resources is a mistake.
It is a backward compatibility kludge.
