I've been running with it for a couple of days, and subjectively GC is
a little less frequent (I had set gc-cons-threshold to 8MB, so that's
not damning with faint praise), and is not taking perceptibly more
time. My guess is that nobody who's not looking for it will notice.
I'd like to release 21.5.23 in a day or so, so I'd like to see a
commit if you've worked out the issues with MC_ALLOC satisfactorily.
BTW, the log already snuck in to ChangeLog, so make sure you don't
dupe it.
