I'm sorry but I don't follow you there. I though adding the :help
keyword as a nop would definitely not break old installations.
No, but the new menus that it is supposed to enable will. Our
packages are supposed to be 21.4-compatible until 6 months after we
release a new stable version. So we'd have a feature in recent 21.5
that we can't take advantage of in the packages anyway, only in recent
enough core.
