XEmacs, because of the traditional dumping, mucks badly with malloc.
Since it is 21.2 we're talking about, I wouldn't worry too much about
it for now[1] given the --with-system-malloc work-around.

[1] As in, until the portable dumper is stable and the mucking-up
removed. Gunnar made me notice that the extents dumping in the
modeline format is fucked up when using --without-mule. I have to
find out why. It's really weird.
