brokeness in customize

Environment: SGI Irix 6.5.6m 21.2b28, last cvs-update yesterday xemacs -vanilla just starting to play with customize after years of just doing everything manually (though there are things I like about it, I find it incredibly difficult to find some things - like why is font-lock under Programming->Languages? but that's not what this msg is about...) there's something weird happening in customization of "Dired No Confirm" - just try this: Options->Customize->Emacs->Environment->Dired->Behavior->Dired No Confirm you should see "Symbol's function definition is void: nil" in the minibuffer and weirdness in the Customize buffer... -- John A.
