when to merge unicode-internal?

i'm thinking about merging unicode-internal as soon as all of the new stuff added works perfectly under *old-mule*. i can't guarantee at that point that compiling --with-unicode-internal will work prefectly; it will probably work, and you'll be able to edit, but various things won't be quite right. those will get gradually fixed up, but in time. i'd like to get it merged sooner both because it will make it easier for others to examine the code (and maybe even fix problems) and it will make it easier for me to keep up with code synched up with changes. comments? I also have a to-do list summarizing the main issues that lie ahead in the unicode-internal work. I'll post this when it's a little more cleaned up. ben
