Amusingly (?) enough, the GNU folks are discussing this very problem
(serializing hash tables) at the moment. Yet another decades-old
feature of XEmacs that they are just now getting around to.
Huh? Imagine if they were discussing consing a list, now would that be
a reason for condescension? Since lists have so long been a part of
XEmacs? Or something?
Just because the "GNU folks" are discussing serializing hash tables does
not mean that hash tables have not long been in Emacs, or that XEmacs
has a viable or documented solution for hash table serialization.
I mean, could you explain just what are you now being proud of? What is
the exact thing that you are claiming decades of headstart for?
