Hello Vin,
I have made the updates I thought appropriate for this great new
service for the Windows user community.
I tried to give a clear message on the website that this is the
preferred download for Windows users, in the hope that we will get
less reports from users running 21.4.9 or 21.4.13 installations.
And now we have some links to point these users to solve their
problems.
Vin, from reading
http://ftp.xemacs.org/xemacs/binaries/win32/InnoSetup/README
I found some deviations from a typical native Windows build as
produced by nt/xemacs.mak defaults.
I'm afraid these regressions will make our support task more difficult
when troubleshooting core and package issues.
In particular xemacs.mak has these defaults:
INSTALL_DIR=c:\Program Files\XEmacs\XEmacs-$(XEMACS_VERSION_STRING)
PACKAGE_PREFIX=c:\Program Files\XEmacs
Vin, do you think you could migrate towards these defaults for the
next InnoSetup install kit?
Please let me know if you would like to see any changes made to the
XEmacs website regarding my updates for this new kit.
Best regards,
Adrian
