(setq meta-prefix-char -1) might help. See the C-h v doc for that
variable. I don't do this myself so no promises here ....
Yeah, it didn't help. (And FWIW, in GNU Emacs rebinding ESC works even
with `meta-prefix-char' set to the default `27'.)
P.S. I apologize for mutilating your name, some recent update of VM
has completely screwed up MIME encoding, and I'm too short of time to
figure out how to make it DTRT. :-(
Well, it's really nice you even noticed; a lot of people from ASCII land
just keep mutilating people's names silently. ;-)
