See PROBLEMS for some Motif patches that help with some problems. (I
don't think this is one of them, unfortunately.)
It looks pretty close, though, to the "XEmacs crashes on exit (#2)"
problem listed in PROBLEMS. As the OP is using Solaris, which has some
patches, it's probably worth a try.
