It's not off-topic; the web site, as the central source of information
about XEmacs and its primary distribution point, is part of the XEmacs
project.
Keep in mind that neither of our suggestions came out of the blue;
they were prompted by a question about what the Right Thing to do is.

I don't care who's right. I want the Right Thing for the XEmacs web
site, just as we strive for the Right Thing in its implementation and
its documentation.
I enumerated some problems with what you suggested; what is wrong with
my suggestion (which fixes every problem)? If I'm wrong, tell me why
so I can learn something. If I'm not, find out why so you can learn
something from the experience.
