Font-lock: fix XEmacs vs. sync jit-lock? [was: regexps]

That's a whole different question, though, so I've split the thread.
Since you know that much about it, what do you think of Marcus's
suggestion that we forget about fixing XEmacs's font lock and syncing
to Emacs's jit-lock?
