It should not change. IIRC Ben (?) did a sweeping "cvs admin -ko" to
the packages tree a while back. -ko tells CVS not to expand the
keywords which is appropriate for practically everything in the packages
tree (one exception would be binary files for which -kb is better); the
keywords are not being systematically used for anything at the moment
AFAIK.
$ cvs stat verilog-mode.el | grep Options
Sticky Options: -ko
No worries, it should Just Work if committed as-is.
