I went to info (C-h i) and wanted to read the Customizations
section, but when I try to go it, I get an error message
that says "Info file custom does not exist". Which is true,
as I look for it in the installed directory.
I'm not sure what's going on. custom.texi was moved into the Lisp
Reference manual a while back. I guess the problem is that the dir
file distributed with XEmacs hasn't been updated for this.
(Info-goto-node "(xemacs)Customization")
(Info-goto-node "(lispref)Customization")
will take you where you want to go for now.
But even if I save the options, that's not the size I get
the next time I restart xemacs.
If you're using an Xft-enabled XEmacs, custom doesn't work properly
with Xft fonts. You pretty much either need to use X resources or
set-face-font in init.el.
As you can see, I'm struggling to the point I'm not even
sure what questions to ask, which is why I wanted to
review the Info manual on this in order to get my bearings.
The Info manual probably hasn't been updated to describe the current
state of affairs.
Sorry I can't be more helpful.
