Mike, would you explain again why this pair of diffs makes sense?
These are the relevant log messages (my local rev numbers match with
yours):
changeset: 4401:01970033faa6
parent: 4399:e5b3c4dbc8a2
user: Aidan Kehoe <kehoea(a)parhasard.net>
date: Thu Jan 17 11:52:45 2008 +0100
summary: Configure fixes from Hans de Graaff, as used in Gentoo.
changeset: 4400:555e21a66d51
user: Mike Sperber <sperber(a)deinprogramm.de>
date: Thu Jan 17 10:18:05 2008 +0100
summary: 2008-01-13 Michael Sperber <mike(a)xemacs.org>
The first diff -r 4400 -r 4401 looks like Aidan is just reverting
your
change.
Yes. Because Aidan's patch is relative to 4399 (see the "parent:"
line), which is *before* my patch. Therefore, the result of doing 4401
doesn't include patch. Therefore, comparing the situation after my
patch with 4401 undoes my patch.
Could you say what kind of information you were trying to get at?
