This bug seems to have been around since 2005 or something. I guess
list-registers isn't used that much. I hardly use registers at all
although they are really useful. Just haven't got them into my
fingers.
Well I use registers quite a lot, but only since I use two
add-ons, which are not part of Xemacs yet.
- list-register.el which lists registers in a different
buffer, similar to what the (patched) register.el
does but with a huge difference: you can jump to that
buffer and then insert the registers you like into
the original buffer. I find this a *very* useful
feature for example if you want copy from text
different buffers to other buffers and the kill ring
is just to up to this.
- better-registers which allows you to save the
registers of one session.
Maybe these 2 could be edited to say edit-utils?
