As far as I can tell, that this worked in XEmacs 21.4 was probably
just
an accident. It certainly doesn't work in Emacs now.
I think something like
(let ((gnus-newsgroup-name "")) (gnus-post-news nil))
It seems to boil down to this:
I can evaluate without problems
(gnus-post-news 'post)
in 21.4 but not in 21.5 nor in GNU emacs.
