Actually, I didn't run the tests when doing that change, and it was a
plain simple braino by yours truly. Running the tests from a "make
distclean"'ed tree would have caught that too.
I think that currently you start from a 'make disclean'ed
directory,
but a fresh CVS one would be better, IMO.
I'll make it optional. The packages tree is about 85M nowadays, which
is pretty hefty, even with CVS compression on.
Currently, the test script starts (by default) from a tree that has been
told to "make distclean; cvs update -dAP", which should provide a clean
start just as a fresh checkout would. Of course that depends on "make
distclean" doing its job properly.
