If there is a problem with stuff being appended to an autoloads file

changed to process the respective stuff into autoload cookies in some

up.
Well, I'm not too happy with the recent trend of substituting the
auto-autoloads.el file (which should contain only entry points) for
the custom-load.el file (which should contain the variable
declarations and only those) and the traditional $PACKAGE-hooks.el
file. It has too often been abused in ways that create dependency
problems.
Is there a reason why this needs to be done? I'm not unalterably
opposed to it, but most of the trouble seems to be caused by lazy
programming enabled by autoload abuse.
