Dear Bug Team!
I noticed someone report this informally a few days ago, but I haven't seen an
actual bug report for this yet, so I'll do it now.
I wrote a small defun. After I finished writing it, I verified it was mostly
valid by doing an "eval-last-sexp" after the end of it. Right after the
"(interactive)" line, and before doing anything in the defun, I had the
following:
(message "Got here")
(sit-for 1)
I then moved my cursor into the middle of the defun and executed
"edebug-defun". It printed out "Edebug: <defun-name>" in the
message area. I
then went to another buffer and executed the defun. It did nothing. It didn't
even print the message.
I then went back into the defun and did "eval-defun" and in the message area it
printed the defun name and also stated that the defun is bound to "M-C-x". I
then went to the other buffer and executed the defun, and it executed as
expected.
So, not only is an edebugged defun not debugging, it's apparently not executing
either.
