The one which is found in http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/wdired.el which is denoted as the old version? There are a couple of small difference between the two versions. Or the new version http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/WDired which I have not tested?

- you say a port is doable but not trivial. I run this pkg for years without problems, save the odd query-replace-regexp which I faced recently. So what are the problems?
