I'm not surprised, actually. If you look in lib-src/ellcc.h (in the
build directory), you should see that ELLCC_DLL_CFLAGS is set to
"-fPIC", so this flag is being passed to gcc behind your back, as it
were.
The fact that you and I both have one Solaris box on which this works
does argue that it's something specific to the one box, rather than a
generic problem with Solaris. Can you verify that the LDAP headers and
libraries match on that one machine? For example, can you successfully
build other LDAP applications on that machine?
I'm pretty sure the ldap installation is hosed. I'll deal with that later
when I've got more time to play with it.
I can now build with modules disabled without specifically disabling ldap
and I can build with modules enabled and ldap disabled. Once I get a
functional ldap installation I'll try that again and let you know.
