The problem is that if OpenMotif is not really free, the popular
distributions may choose not to include it, at least not by default.
That would seriously hamper its usefulness, even if you don't want to
keep your system "RMS approved".
I don't see that at all. Corel Office for Linux is not free and nor is
it included in every Linux distribution. That does not "seriously hamper
its usefulness".
I still don't understand why the less than perfect licensing for
OpenMotif would cause someone to recommend using the buggy and
incomplete Lesstif instead. I would be very suprised if OpenMotif is not
available in the standard package format of every major Linux
distribution.
