When using the pui interface to install multiple packages, xemacs
crashes because it's exhausted it's stack space whilst doing
regex-search (cygwin appears to use only a 2Meg stack). I recompiled
with REGEX_MALLOC defined, and the crash went away, but every package
that gets installed produces a warning trace like the following (note
also all the load-path shadows, which I think are caused by duplicate
entries on the load path. Those entries are not duplicated if I
restart xemacs)
I'm considering doing this for the binary kit. Does it make any noticeable
difference in speed? For instance I find the pdump version under cygwin to
be much slower for some reason, I have no idea why.
