Well, I read most of the traffic on xemacs-beta. I do not recall
having seen "./config.status --recheck; make beta" deprecated as the
normal way to build an XEmacs beta. This is still the procedure as of
CVS checked out 2.5 hours ago in etc/BETA.
I always thought that was a good idea. People in active development
do `make' and rebuild only out-of-date dependencies. `make beta'
cleans out the cruft and makes sure of a clean build.
