There was a thread that leaked over as a cross-post from
emacs-devel(a)gnu.org entitled "New splash screen annoyance ..." or
something like that, which is totally irrelevant to XEmacs, except
perhaps via the "you have to read your victims their rights at
interactive startup if the Original Work does so" clause of the GPL
(if it means "verbatim", which I don't think it does, we might have to
copy the aforementioned annoyance, and you might want to know why).
So I nuked it, all 3 posts from DAK, 11 posts from Drew Adams, and
something like 13 posts from RMS, not to mention a half dozen from
Random Hackers.
If anybody wants me to, I'll post an URL to the archives on savannah
(or even a digest), but it should be easy enough to find if you want
to.
