I was already using xemacs-base 2.37, which is the most recent, right?
But I see my tramp is slightly out-of-date. 1.46 is current but I was
using 1.45. However, that didn't make a difference.
The actual error message is
Wrong type argument: symbolp, (autoload "subr-more"
("/Volumes/share2/darwin10.8/share/xemacs/xemacs-packages/lisp/xemacs-base/auto-autoloads.elc"
. 89062) nil nil)
I'll poke around some more....
