There's no correct and authoritative advice because it depends on the
local configuration. Historically (and a lot of us have been
upgrading packages for long enough to be historical) the location was
$prefix/lib. I believe this is still default in XEmacs 21.4. FHS
recommends $prefix/share, which is default in XEmacs 21.5.
I built xemacs from source and have installed xemacs-base-2.33
and python-modes-1.14
Only? On top of a full SUMO installation? Or what?
but am suffering when I open an .py file.
