Re: build failure on Ubuntu 12.04.1

As other folks said, you are missing libncurses5-dev. Actually to save yourself a bunch of little issues with what Configure finds on your machine just do "sudo apt-get build-deps xemacs21" to get all the build requires for the old version and that should get you fairly far towards building the beta version.
