I've been trying to stay out of this discussion because it seemed to me
to be in danger of getting to be about personalities rather than issues,
but perhaps its better for me to add my 2p rather than seem like the
ghost at the banquet.
Obviously I'd like to see my patch applied. I think that it does the
right thing, but efs is a big entity and I can't pretend to understand
it in anything other than a superficial way, so I don't claim that my
changes are risk-free.
I don't think it's fair to pressurise Michael into accepting a patch
that he hasn't had a good look at, or to threaten to split something
that he then has to support.
Although Michael was forwarded a copy of an earlier "proof-of-concept"
patch that I knocked together some time ago, my September 7th patch was
really the first solid explanation of the win32 problems.
