In XEmacs 21.1 (patch 10) "Capitol Reef" [Lucid] (i386-pc-win32) of Fri Jun 09 2000 on ZJ75T configured using `configure UNKNOWN' as well as (emacs-version) "XEmacs 21.2 (beta34) \"Molpe\" [Lucid] (i586-pc-win32) of Fri Jul 14 2000 on ZJ75T" Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug and the precise symptoms of the bug: Just evaluate (file-name-extension "x.el~") in the *scratch* buffer to reproduce this bug. This happens in a vanilla 21.1.10 and 21.2-b34 XEmacs built from latest CVS.
