Hyper or Super mapped by xmodmap are not recognised any longer

Hello I switched form KDE 3.3 to 3.4 and now xemacs (either 21.4.16 or 21.4.15) does not any longer understand all the mapping of my .Xmodmap file. I mapped ecaped to hyper or super by keycode 0x09 = Hyper_L While this worked nicely before now xkeycaps recognise that escape is mapped to hyper or super, however xemacs ignores it. (Describe-key escape f4) returns the description for f4 not for super f4 as before. However I tested icewm and it is the same over there. The Xserver seems to be the same I used before the upgrade, so I am confused, frankly. Any idea? Uwe Brauer
