Re: bzip2, please get it

I was able to use it, but I recall making some random complaint about it at the time -- I think I had to go through a few gyrations to get it to build anywhere near cleanly. Anyway, even at the time, once I got it built I viewed it as a Good Thing since I could download faster and decompression has always seemed to be about as fast as gzip. I'm not sure that dropping gzip distributions is a good idea, but it won't have any negative impact on me personally. For final releases, I guess that I'd argue that dropping the .tar.gz format would actually be bad, but beta folks should be able to deal. Rick
