I'll look at it more carefully later, but I don't see anything there
that would account for the ballooning up that you report. Does this
instance show increased memory usage according the OS (eg, according
to ps)? I think the statistics for Lisp objects are pretty good, so
if you're seeing ballooning up here, it's not GC as such, but
something in a different subsystem (images, fonts, ...).
