Hello Robert!
For your commits you need to use
:ext:xemacs@cvs.xemacs.org
in combination with following value of environment variable CVS_RSH:
(getenv "CVS_RSH")
"ssh"
Sure, i.e. I use the cvs-rw wrapper as described on
xemacs.org ... but most of the time I just use plain
cvs, i.e. anonymous access and this is probably where
the different roots come from.
Here's a hint about what could change your CVS/Root files:
`$CVS_IGNORE_REMOTE_ROOT'
For CVS 1.10 and older, setting this variable prevents CVS from
overwriting the `CVS/Root' file when the `-d' global option is
specified. Later versions of CVS do not rewrite `CVS/Root', so
CVS_IGNORE_REMOTE_ROOT has no effect.
This is interesting ;-)
Thanks,
Robert
PS: I'll be away until October and will come back on the
remaining VM issues then ...
