Well no, I think the use of the phrase 7bit was a little confusing.
Here is what iso-unaccentuate and the like do:
iso-accentuate
'a --------------> á
iso-unaccentuate
á ---------------> 'a
iso-deaccentuate
á ---------------> a
etc
The last function I *don't* consider as being very useful.
Now what I was looking for were equivalent functions for (all) the
quail input methods, especially latin1 and TeX-input
TeX-2-utf8(TeXtuate)
\int ---------------> ∫
utf8-2-TeX(TeXuntuate)
∫ ---------------> \int
I hope this better explains what I am looking for.
