Well, in the process of getting 'gnuclient -nw' to work correctly after you
start XEmacs in X, I'm proceeding towards utter enlightenment. :)

This is working now, although the pointer disappears from both VCs when you
have multiple ones going. Very very odd. I'm attaching the latest
gpmevent.c in case you want to play with it. I'm not going to send a diff,
because it is now 90 lines longer than the file itself. :)
1. make sure the xterm mouse stuff works.
Still not going to work at the C level. I still have high hopes for
xt-mouse.el though. Maybe I'll hack on it sometime this week.
3. Make XEmacs support the GPM selection protocol.
Done in the latest round of patches.
