XEmacs 21.4 is now up to version 21.4.22; it is very likely that this
crash has been fixed. Please upgrade to a newer version, and if you
can still crash XEmacs 21.4.22 this way, let us know. viper does not
crash recent XEmacs 21.4 (basically 21.4.22, with a minor patch) for
me on Mac OS X.
Also, I see you're running RHEL 5. You can get XEmacs 21.5.29 from
the add-on repository EPEL:
