Dired not reusing buffers -- intermittently

In XEmacs 21.4 (patch 3) "Academic Rigor" [Lucid] (i586-pc-win32) of Thu May 17 2001 on SHALOM configured using `configure UNKNOWN' Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug and the precise symptoms of the bug: Not sure if I report this before, but... For some reason that I haven't isolated, Dired often (but not always) fails to reuse a buffer. That is, if I run dired on a directory, then quit that buffer, then re-dired the directory, Dired will create a new buffer ("dir<2>") rather than reuse the old buffer ("dir").
