I distrust X11, Motif, and GNOME (and in that order of aversion).
Might as well throw KDE in there, I am watching some other process info but it
turns out the stuff I wasn't interested in is giving the most surprises.
kdeinit: kicker (I think that's the panel app) VSZ grew to 850MB RSS to ~200MB
