[21.5 (beta6)] dired doesn't work any more

Hi! This seems to be a new bug, maybe introduced by recent commits. Start dired in a vanilla xemacs. Files can't be selected, marking triggers the error Signaling: (quit) dired-move-to-filename() dired-repeat-over-lines(1 #<compiled-function nil "...(17)" [char dired-update-marker-counters t dired-substitute-marker] 4>) dired-mark-file(1 nil) dired-mark(1) call-interactively(dired-mark) FWIW, it might be a good thing to introduce a separate address for the dired-maintainer. norbert.
