The docs are correct: anything that makes Motif less likely to be used
saves developer hair from being pulled out. Motif dialogs have been
buggy at times IIRC (I know the menubar was). :-P
Seriously, I wrote section of INSTALL with scissors and pastepot. My
preference is obvious, but it's evidently not realistic. :-)
Thanks for the report; I'll probably make configure in 21.5 conform to
INSTALL, what to do about 21.4 is up to Vin.
I'll also check to see whether there should be a gtk stanza there; I
think that is handled elsewhere but it should be checked.
