Ok. Over my slow link (128K) I can reproduce it with vanilla and Nikko. I
didn't got it over ethernet the last time... It looks a bit weird: first the
region disappears, then I get a text-drag-icon with stop-sign (no drop
possible) and then XE nukes... If I move the cursor a bit with button-2 down,
everything works out fine.

indeed. both times I tried, it was from a sun with display on linux.

sorry. no. That was 20.4 on Solaris 2.6 with CDE
But it seems to be in Nikko, too. But why I didn't got the crash two days
ago? I will try to explore this.
my Nikko build on a local Sun just finished and there I cannot
reproduce the crash. this is 2.5 without CDE. Alas this one is not
linked against the sun Xlibs (openwin). I'll try that later.
Sure. No CDE no DnD. No problem. It looks like some kind of race condition.
I try to find out, fast.
