Mind-reading functions have been suggested in the past, but even with a dynamic decision based on the environment, it seems that a lot of the needed information is in the user's head, a pure matter of preference or working habits that XEmacs can't guess in advance. If somebody wants to go ahead an change the default on Windows, I won't object.
