Just wanted to let you know that this (or some other fix) also fixes a long standing problem I had with gnus and nntp that started showing up in b4 or b5. After some period, the nntp connection would be closed. When I tried to get new news, gnus would complain that it couldn't open the server. I'd either restart gnus or go to the gnus server buffer, close the connection, wait some random amount of time, and open it again. Now, it works like it used to: gnus automatically reopens the connection and away I go! Thanks! Ray
