forward-compat (was: Re: [Q21.4] Re: [patch] [21.5] derived.el - put `derived-mode-parent' property on child, plus sync `derived-mode-p')
I'm not certain anything uses them. I suppose it would be nice
when
21.4 becomes stable for it to do the right thing. If the
compatability package doesn't look likely to get off the ground, I
would be more inclined to install this in 21.4.
Regarding the compat package, I'm ready to set it up, either directly to
xemacs-packages area, or unsupported/ if someone wants to play with it
before putting into official area. The interface was discussed somewhat
in xemacs-design but there's no conclusion yet. Just gimme a note and
I'll set it up...
