Text properties and extents displayed incorrectly

(e.g. face), the attributes are only applied to the end of the line,
not to the edge of the window, even if the line break character(s) are
included.
This is intentional behavior. If someone changes it, then the
behavior should be made configurable because some apps will not
want the new behavior.
