how to disable `edebug-defun'

Hello I have seen this behavior before but not always. I debug a function with edebug-defun, everything is fine the debugging ends, or so I thought. When calling the function again the debugger starts again, nothing helps no C-] no q no C-g nothing. In desperation I kill the buffer of the corresponding lisp file. Now when I want to use the function again, I obtain the following error: Which I don't understand. What shall I do?
